MVLL WINS OPENER AGAINST CASA GRANDE 13 - 7
Mountain View Little League started its defense of their 2009 State Championship with a convincing win over Casa Grande Little League, Matt Lewis pitched 4 shut out innings, allowing only 2 hits. MVLL jumped to a 9 - 0 lead after 5 innings after a 3 run home run by Lucas Jacobi. 2 RBI base hits by Ethan Rickert, and Greg Hopkins. MVLL had a total of 13 hits with contributions by several players
MVLL had a team effort contribution with hits from 8 players; Jacobi, Salazar, Cozens, Hopkins, Ditroia, Lewis, Mills.
MVLL used several pitchers to include Jacobi, Salazar, Riggs set up for Keaton Boysen to close out.
MVLL will play Gilbert National tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM to complete game play. The winner will advance to play on Monday at 5:00 PM.
