Mountain View Little League best Oregon in shootout, 12-9
Scoreboard operators were busy at Ontario, CA on Wednesday as Mountain View Little League and Oregon combined for 21 runs. Mountain View Little League eventually won the offensive battle 12-9.
The two teams combined for 25 hits, including three extra base hits.
Jimmy DiTroia did his best to jumpstart the offense for Mountain View Little League , reaching base three times. He scored three runs and had two RBIs. DiTroia singled in the first inning.
Braedon Price led Oregon's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. Price doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Nick Carrera recorded the win for Mountain View Little League . He allowed four runs over 1 1/3 innings. The Mountain View Little League pitcher struck out one, walked two and surrendered four hits.
Michael Salazar rose to the occasion out of the bullpen, hurling two innings of shutout ball while racking up two strikeouts and giving up one hit and one walk.
Zach Janikis threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless ball for Mountain View Little League .
